Our team understands how material disparities and external circumstances create an unequal playing field for students from cultural institutions. By volunteering and providing international funding, we aim to take action against academic inequality.

Tap into the Night 2024

On behalf of the Tap Initiative, thank you to everyone that came out and participated! From this event, we hope you all had a blast and were able to learn about different cultures! We had an attendance of ~500 people 🙌

This weekend, our Quarry Lane chapter’s TAP team helped out our district’s local partner, the Tri-Valley Native American Center. Thank you to everyone who participated in creating keychain kits for their Indigenous People Day event!

On behalf of the Tap Initiative, a student-led nonprofit, our team is so excited to announce the annual Tap into the Night event!

Tap into the Night is a student-coordinated multicultural night market that will be held on the Quarry Lane East Campus (6363 Tassajara Road, Dublin) from 5:00-8:00 pm on September 21st.

Although the event is free, if you intend to attend the event, please fill out this google form: tinyurl.com/ti2tn2024. Each visitor will need to fill out the guest form to receive their own google receipt to show at the entrance booth in order to be allowed into the event.

This past weekend, the TAP team helped out at the Tri-Valley Native American, our local partner. Members worked to create craft kits and organize the library.

Tap has organized another monthly trip with our local partner, Fa Yun Chan. We helped the Fa Yun Chan center with their landscaping and renovation to an academic center. Thanks everyone who came and helped us today.

Members will be involved in assisting in getting their resources more accessible to students, teachers, and the community. We have 3 upcoming activities we’ll be working on

Jan Tap Trip Highlights 📚
With that, Tap wrapped up working with our 2023 local partner, Fa Yun Chan, in assisting them with renovating their academic center. Today members helped clean a community room for future students and organized the center’s book collection.

On December 24th, the Tap team donated $500 to the Fa Yun Chan Temple to help them with purchasing new plants for their student garden. A huge thanks to our members that helped us fundraise this year and also for coming out to assist with in person renovation work! 🪴💚

With the semester coming to an end, the Tap team has raised $5000 for the Vajrayogini Meditation Center! The money raised went towards replacing the water filter at the center to provide their students with clean water, and the leftover money was used to buy food and water for local homeless. Thank you to everyone for supporting us and to all the donors who have made this possible🚰💕

October Tap Trip 🌾

This past weekend Tap members helped a local temple, Fa Yun Chan, clear land in order to prepare for a new building. The building will be a new children’s center, dedicated to helping the children learn.

And lastly, a thank you from the Tap Team to everyone that supported us through hosting Tap into the Night! As a first time event, we were thrilled to see over 550+ people come out and engage on a cultural & social level through the shared interest of food and crafts.

💌 A note from TT and Lucy:
This year the Tap Initiative is partnering with Fa Yun Chan Temple to continue assisting them with renovation work for their new academic center for kids studying with them. Every month, student members will go on trips to go in person and help out with landscaping, gardening, and other volunteer activities.

Additionally, Tap is partnering with the Bajrayogini Meditation Center which houses and provides education to over 200 students. With their water filter currently broken, the students have lost access to clean water. Any money that Tap earns from fundraisers and donations this semester will be going towards getting them a new filter❣️

Thank you to the QLS Inventeam for hosting a device demo at Tap into the Night!

The team has been working on developing a device to aid deaf athletes with communication during sports games. They are currently in their beta-testing phase and if you have any connections to deaf athletes / organizations or want to check out their device, go to @qls_inventeam
